Based off previous entries, I value working with others which can be seen throughout all blogs and all occupations from being a mentor (helping clients overcome an issue such as their environment), soccer trainer (help others learn new skills that can be used on the field or life lessons), car salesman (help individual obtain a car), OTS (eventually working/helping others), and as a volunteer.   In addition, I value occupations that requires a challenge such as money management/financial manager, trainer/mentor, car salesman and OTS. Reflecting on various time periods of your life, discuss and provide examples of ·       The role of occupation in the promotion of health and prevention of disease and disability The importance of balancing areas of occupation for health and wellness. Before starting Kindergarten, I remember having to get a lot of shots. Some other students were not allowed to start until their immunization record was up to date. I know from state to state it varies but North Carolina doesn’t allow those without the required immunizations to participate in school in the promotion of health and prevention of disease. Also in Kindergarten, we learned so many songs on washing hands and other techniques regarding hygiene/sanitation; such as, coughing in armpit. Discuss this occupation and how it varies based on changes in the temporal context. ·       For example, how has eating dinner varied for you based on your age/developmental level, stage of life, or disability status? Chinese Proverb: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” I truly believe life is about serving others and the quote above is one that has always resonated with me. So many people have invested love and care into my life; consequently, I feel obligated to help care for others. Even if I don’t personally know the individual(s), I still have some level of care and respect; we’re all human.
